Topped with premium local ingredients and the secret Black Burger sauce, every bite promises melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

"Queenstown's spirit of adventure perfectly mirrors our own," expresses Mitch Ryder, one of the Founders of Black Burger. "We're thrilled to share our passion for quality burgers and create unforgettable dining experiences in this vibrant community."

Born amidst the challenges of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Black Burger emerged from the shared passion and lockdown boredom of three mates in Christchurch. Recognizing the absence of a classic LA-style smash cheeseburger with premium ingredients, they conceived a simple yet groundbreaking concept. Take the finest Wagyu beef, combine it with locally sourced freshness, and craft the best cheeseburger in New Zealand. This commitment to quality became the cornerstone of Black Burger's identity. Operating initially from Hide Club, an electronic music venue, during pandemic restrictions. The overwhelming public reception paved the way for a more permanent location.

Fast forward three years and Black Burger has found its permanent home at Riverside Market in Christchurch. Now majority-owned by the exceptional Wagyu supplier Black Origin, the brand has evolved into an event-traveling food truck and a local catering sensation. The journey continues, with Black Burger expanding its footprint across New Zealand, and Queenstown is the first destination on this thrilling adventure. The brand will unveil its new rebrand in early 2024, designed by well-known Christchurch designer, Scott Semibold.

More than a burger joint, Black Burger is on a mission to become an integral part of the Queenstown community. Committed to supporting local businesses, collaborating on exciting events, and contributing to initiatives that enrich the Queenstown experience, Black Burger is poised to deliver not just a meal but a culinary celebration to remember.

Get ready, Queenstown – Black Burger is here to redefine your dining adventure, one Wagyu masterpiece at a time.
